The Ubuntu team had officially annouced the availability of Ubuntu 9.04, dubbed 'Jaunty Jackalope'. With Gnome 2.26 and the 2.6.28 Linux kernel, it packs a number of new features and enhancements including shorter boot time.

The recent release has taken a good step forward in being a more effective alternative OS for mainstream computers.

Get it while it's hot (well until the next release comes out.).
